No Smoking....

On 2 October 2008, goverment of india put a ban on smoking in public places in india......

Does smoking actually harm anything more than the individual's health?
Does smoking contribute to environmental pollution any more than vehicular or industrial emmissions?
Does smoking lead to social degradation?

Than.............
Why are smokers treated as orphan citizens in india?
Why are they not allowed to smoke in peace?
Why doesn't the govetnment ban the manufacturing of ciggerates if they are so concerned about the health of the country?

And........
What is the defination of a public place according to this law?
How shall we ensure that the money collected from the law defaulters goes to the treasury?
How shall we enforce the law equally to all sections of society?
(Non-urban, Slums etc.)

And if all that is done.....
Is smoking issue worth diverting public funds and manpower engaged elsewhere?
Are smoking statistics really alarming?
How many people die due to smoking every year?
How many due to passive smoking?

And above all .....
How many laws have been succesfully implemented in this country?
