Angel's nowhere to be seen
My skin is bruised
My heart bleeds
Devil pounces upon me
I'm tired of running
On my soul he feeds
In chains writhing in pain
What did i do wrong?
I scream
As i wake up to see
It's not a dream
It's all me......

No Smoking....
On 2 October 2008, goverment of india put a ban on smoking in public places in india......
Does smoking actually harm anything more than the individual's health?
Does smoking contribute to environmental pollution any more than vehicular or industrial emmissions?
Does smoking lead to social degradation?
Than.............
Why are smokers treated as orphan citizens in india?
Why are they not allowed to smoke in peace?
Why doesn't the govetnment ban the manufacturing of ciggerates if they are so concerned about the health of the country?
And........
What is the defination of a public place according to this law?
How shall we ensure that the money collected from the law defaulters goes to the treasury?
How shall we enforce the law equally to all sections of society?
(Non-urban, Slums etc.)
And if all that is done.....
Is smoking issue worth diverting public funds and manpower engaged elsewhere?
Are smoking statistics really alarming?
How many people die due to smoking every year?
How many due to passive smoking?
And above all .....
How many laws have been succesfully implemented in this country?

Gandhi
Since I am starting on 02' Oct it suits to write a tribute to the Mahatma. And what could be greater than a critique of his writing.....
The traditional old implementations, the plough and the spinning wheel have made our wisdom and welfare. We must gradually return to the old simplicity. The railways, telegraphs, hospitals, lawyers, doctors - all have to go- you cannot build non violence on factory civilization, but you can build it on self contained villages.
Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi
I shall quote another great philospher :
An indian village contains in itself all the conditions of surplus production. These idyllic village communities had always been the solid foundation of oriental despotism, they restrained the human mind within the smallest human compass, making it the unresisting fool of superstition, enslaving it beneath traditional rules, depriving it of all grandeur and historical energies.
Karl Marx
The contrasting views from the two masters of social equality. I believe the gandhian view is relevant to a subjugated society where economic development is dependent on the external controllers while the marxian view is relevant to the society which is trying to develop into a full blown democracy.
Hope to have some interesting views.....
